Dr. Phillips Charities Opens Applications for $75,000 Legacy Microgrant Program
Fifteen local nonprofits serving Orange and Osceola counties will each receive $5,000 — with applications open through August 7.
Dr. Phillips Charities is now taking applications for its Legacy Microgrant Program, offering fifteen grants of $5,000 each to qualifying nonprofits that serve Orange and Osceola counties. Interested organizations can learn more on the charity's website, with applications open until August 7.
The program is designed to put meaningful, flexible funding directly into the hands of the community organizations doing the everyday work of strengthening Central Florida.
Who qualifies
Eligibility extends to organizations with yearly operating budgets no greater than $2 million that focus on arts and culture, children and youth, education, health, or social services. Preference is given to initiatives that ease financial strain on ALICE — Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed — and lower-income households while building enduring community benefit.
"The goal is lasting impact: relieving pressure on working families today while building something that keeps giving back to the neighborhood tomorrow."
A track record of impact
Since its start, the program has distributed 30 microgrants adding up to $150,000 for area nonprofits. One earlier grant helped the Mental Health Association of Central Florida modernize the technology behind its Connections Referral Program, expanding access to mental health care for uninsured residents across Central Florida.
Those selected will be honored at the yearly Dr. Phillips Charities Impact Awards this October, a recognition of the organizations shaping the region's future.
Applications remain open through August 7. Qualifying nonprofits can apply here.
